FOUNDERS
LAUREN SAN MARTIN
The oldest of three daughters, Lauren has always assumed the role of the leader. Recently graduating from Boston University with a degree in Neuroscience, she decided it was time for a change. After being consumed in the world of STEM, she wanted something with creativity to be her next step. Blue Mantis is an idea that has taken many forms but with Lauren running operations it has been able to flow smoothly.

GIA SAN MARTIN
Gia has studied fashion and design since high school and began her college career at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. Her designs lean more to the side of couture but Blue Mantis has given her the flexibility of revisiting design that is more laid-back and casual. Her eye for color and styles has helped bring Blue Mantis to life.

Co-Founders Lauren & Gia San Martin are sisters who grew up in Miami, FL.

The idea for a swim wear collection had been in the works for some time, but the conceptualization phase officially started in 2020. After a very long and bumpy road, they are excited to announce the launch of their first collection (with many more to come). Through Lauren's focus on production & operations, and Gia's on design and creative direction, Blue Mantis has started to grow. With a hope to not only expand the swimwear collection but also to include other wear, such as loungewear.
The proximity to the beach has brought a lot of inspiration to the company. Growing up in a place like Miami really makes you appreciate the ocean and all of the tranquility that comes from it. The sisters have also chosen to keep an environmentally conscious mind when picking fabrics as well as choosing to keep their design in-house and production as local as possible.
